Dr. Akbulut is originally from Massachusetts and did her undergraduate (pre-veterinary) studies at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. After UMass, she graduated from Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2009 and completed a rotating internal medicine and surgery internship at Dogs & Cats Veterinary Referral & Emergency in Bowie, MD. After the internship, she stayed on board as part of the emergency staff at DCVR for an extra year and then headed down south to beautiful SE Florida to continue emergency medicine. Dr. Akbulut came on board at TLC as an associate clinician September 2012. Dr. Akbulut’s interests include (besides emergency medicine) feline medicine, anesthesia/analgesia, surgery and preventative medicine.
